Frequently Asked Questions

What dresses are accepted on Selah?

Selah accepts formal dresses that can be worn to weddings, events, or on chagim. Casual dresses will have a lower chance of getting approved and listed on the site.

How can I stay updated on new listings?

If you follow our socials (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) our “spotlight posts” will showcase the beautiful dresses that are patiently waiting for you to try them on! With that being said, our custom filters (size, color, location, etc.) will ensure you don’t miss a single listing!

Why is my listing in review?

Your listing is in review because quality and accuracy is #1 at Selah. Your listing will be approved within 24 hours of uploading and only once you send a payment confirmation of the 30 NIS payment for the upload fee. (This only applies once your 3-month free trial is over!)

Who sets the listing price?

Dress owners set their own listing price, however, if we notice a dress priced higher than the market rate, we will suggest to the sellers to lower it to encourage more sales and happier customers! If you’re not sure how to price your dress, contact us for suggestions!

What will help my listing sell faster?

We’re happy you asked! We invite you to read our blog post on “best practices when listing your dress”. You can also purchase a “social media/website spotlight” to get more eyes on your listing, or arrange a photoshoot to capture the details and unique beauty of your dress. Email us if you're interested!

What are the fees for listing a dress with Selah?

We earn only once you've earned: Once your dress gets rented/sold we ask for 15% of the transaction. Your dress will remain on the site and we will continue to connect you with more women to get you more sales.

How do I try on the dress?

Once you click "Contact Seller", we will send your contact information to the dress owner. They will reach out to you and schedule a time for you to come to them and try on their dress!

Where are payments made for renters?

Once the renter and seller are in contact, all payments are made directly between them. We do not take commission. <3

Can I purchase a dress instead of renting?

Here at Selah, open communication between sellers and renters encourages flexibility and personal decision-making. If a seller has listed her dress as a rental, and you would like to purchase the dress, we suggest you contact the seller to discuss the options available.

What if my dress gets damaged?

Selah takes no responsibility for dress damages. We work hard to facilitate successful connections between renters and sellers, but we cannot guarantee the condition of the dress upon return. We recommend that sellers clearly state the importance of taking care of the dress and covering the cost of any potential damages. Additionally, renters should exercise caution and understand that it is their responsibility to ensure the dress is returned in good condition.
